Keys and alarms
Who holds your code, and what happens to it
The people on your account hold access, and nobody else does. This is the policy we sign before the first night.
Your code is yours
You choose it and you can change it any day, for any reason
We never ask for the master code, only a code for the crew
We give you a day's notice before the first night, so the code can be set that week
We never write it down
Not in a text, an email, a form or a note on the van's dashboard
We take it by phone from your contact and the lead memorizes it
Our office keeps a log of who holds access, never the code itself
Keys
A key goes to one lead, is logged and is returned when the person leaves
We never copy a key, and a key tag carries a number, not your name or address
If you prefer, the key stays in a lockbox and we use that
When someone leaves our crew
The code they used is retired the same week, and we ask you to change it
Their key is returned or the lock is rekeyed at your choice
We tell you in writing which night it happened and what we did
If it trips
If the alarm goes off during a visit
It happens, usually because a door was held open or a code was mistyped. This is the order we follow.
- 01
Step 1: The lead stops and steps outside
Nobody wanders the office while it is alarming, and nobody opens a door again.
- 02
Step 2: The lead calls your contact
The number on your alarm card, and then the monitoring company if you gave us its name.
- 03
Step 3: We wait for the police if they are sent
The lead stays outside, shows ID and does whatever the officer asks.
- 04
Step 4: We write it up
Your contact gets the time, what the lead was doing and what happened, in that morning's text.
Questions about keys and alarms
What if my building uses a fob or a doorman?
The same rules apply. A fob is logged to one lead and returned like a key, and a building's list gets the crew's names before the first night.
Can I see who has access?
Yes. Ask Jaroslaw for the log; it names people and dates, never codes.
What if I want a code that only works at night?
Most alarm panels can do that. We use it if your panel supports it and you set it up.
